Research Interests

I am currently investigating seasonal transcriptional rhythms associated with psychiatric diagnoses, particularly bipolar disorder. I am also studying downstream transcriptional effects of valproic acid in the ventral tegmental area, with a focus on inhibition of HDAC2 and how this leads to other transcriptional changes in mouse models, in an effort to better understand molecular mechanisms which could constitute new targets for bipolar mania therapeutic development.
