During her doctoral studies, she conducted research on the sleep patterns and behavior of offspring born to sleep-deprived mothers, utilizing in vivo electrophysiology and behavioral analysis techniques.
In her postdoctoral tenure at NCBS, India, she was trained in characterizing cortical neurons derived from patients' blood samples with neuropsychiatric disorders.
Additionally, her postdoctoral experience at Stony Brook University focused on utilizing stem cell-derived dopaminergic neurons in projects pertaining to senescence and circadian rhythm in Parkinson’s Disease.
Aswathy brings a diverse skill set to her current role, combining expertise in sleep research, stem cell biology, and electrophysiology. She aims to integrate these proficiencies into various projects within the lab.
